FOUR industry associations and 34 Bollywood producers, including the three Khans, Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar, have approached the Delhi High Court against two TV news channels for allegedly defaming the industry with terms such as “scum” and “druggies” since Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. This is the first time Bollywood’s biggest names have banded together in such a way.

PDP president and former J&K CM ­Mehbooba Mufti, 60, was freed on Tuesday night after Public Safety Act charges against her were revoked. This was barely two days before the Supreme Court was to hear a plea against her detention. She had been detained following abrogation of the erstwhile state’s special status.

THE National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has listed sex workers as ‘women at work’, giving them the recognition of informal workers in a significant step that would make them eligible for government benefits. The NHRC directed the Union and state governments to give sex ­workers access to welfare schemes.
