Sure, any city can be covered in a day and Amsterdam’s not even among the largest, but it’s hardly the best way to go about it. Attractions in Amsterdam include theVan Gogh Museum, theRijksmuseum, its many cafés and bars and its unique canals and windmills (Zaanse Schansis popular for its five or more working examples; 20min by train from the Central Station to Koog-Zaandijk and a 10min walk at the other end, or the twice hourly bus route 391 from Central Station).
