Swiss Air has reached new heights. The airline has become the first international carrier to be certified as ‘allergy-friendly’ by the Berlin-based European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation. The jets have been fitted with air conditioning systems that filter out pollen and animal hair from pets onboard. No air freshening substances are used, bathrooms have hypoallergenic soaps for sensitive skin, and lactose- and gluten-free meals are available on board. What’s more, the crew is well-trained to respond to any allergic emergencies that might occur during the course of the flight.
