Travellers coming to India from the United Kingdom (UK) for tourism and recreational purposes will be able to avail the Indian electronic tourist visa (e-Tourist Visa) facility. They can apply and pay for their visas online and have to carry a printout as proof. Belgium, Hungary, Ireland, Monaco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden will also be able to avail the facility by end of August. Travellers are advised to apply for the e-visa at least four days before the date of travel. The visa will be valid for 30 days from the date of arrival in India. The number of airports that will support the e-Tourist Visa facility has also been increased — Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Gaya, Jaipur, Lucknow, Trichy and Varanasi.
