Located in Marrakech’s oldest neighbourhood, the Kasbah, where the former royal stables once stood, is the Almaha Marrakech (from €310; almahamarrakech.com/en/). The boutique hotel, which opened in February 2016, is styled like a riad (a traditional Moroccan house with an interior garden or courtyard) and provides a range of luxurious facilities. The setting draws its inspiration from the Charles Baudelaire poem L’invitation au voyage. The hotel has 12 individually styled bedrooms and original décor conceived by Belgian architect and designer Charles Kaisin. Facilities range from an underground hammam and spa and a roof-top terrace, where guests can dine and enjoy the swimming pool, which is open throughout the day.
