The eighth edition of the Mountain Echoes Literary Festival is all set to be held in Thimpu, Bhutan in August, this year. This annual literary festival is organised by India Bhutan Foundation in association with Siyahi. It aims to provide a platform for writers, biographers, historians, environmentalists, scholars, photographers, poets, musicians, artists, film-makers to engage in cultural dialogue and share their stories apart from highlighting the shared history of the two nations.  Globally relevant issues such as environmental conservation, natural history, spirituality, and the global evolution of textiles and design traditions, amongst others will be discussed during the three-day festival. The list of prominent speakers includes celebrated Bhutanese poet Ashi Sonam Choden Dorji, Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Barkha Dutt, Pradip Krishen and Imtiaz Ali.
