Come March and serious mountain fans can look forward to the ultimate Himalayan experience with this classic fourteen-day trek to the Everest Base Camp and Kala Pattar organised by South Col Expeditions (southcol.com). Fitness levels are required to be high for this one so be prepared for an average of 5-8 hours of walking every day. The climb up to the Kala Pattar view point, high above the Khumbu Glacier, is steep and is likely to be snow-covered so make sure you get the right trekking shoes. But once you get tere, you’ll be guaranteed of fantastic views of the world’s highest mountain (see the photo above). You will need to reach Kathmandu by March 25, 2017 for the trek which is scheduled from March 26, 2017 to April 8, 2017.
