A survey of heritage hotels in India by the travel portal TripAdvisor has put Umaid Bhawan, Jodhpur, a Taj Hotels property, at the top spot. The 2014 Travellers’ Choice Awards for Heritage Hotels is based on millions of reviews and feedback from travellers registered on TripAdvisor. This year, Rajasthan has nine winning hotels in the final list of 25, the state topping the chart for the third time in a row. Kerala has six winning properties this year, up from four last time. Uttarakhand has three properties and West Bengal has two. The state of Delhi has only one winner, Imperial Hotel.
