Operating for the past five years, the pop-up golf course on Adelboden’s Engstligenalp, in Switzerland, is attracting golf enthusiasts from around the globe. In 2015, it will be operating from September 10 – October 25. Called the Golf Mountain, the 18-hole golf course, ranging from par 3s to par 5s, is said to be a challenging arena for even the skilled golfers. Hazards include streams and rocky outcrops, swirling mountain winds and extreme weather conditions. Located at 1,964 metres, and the highest golf course in Europe, Engstligenalp is a nature reserve with views over the village of Adelboden. What’s more interesting is that the clubhouse for golfers also turns into a traditional raclette hut (raclette is a Swiss dish based on heating the cheese and scraping off the melted part on to the diner’s plate).
