Spring is coming. And what better way to usher it in than flowers? For over 70 years, Macy’s Department Store has been celebrating the season with an extravagant exhibition of flowers and lush gardens. This year’s celebration will be in full bloom for two weeks from March 26 to April 9 at its three flagship locations, including Herald Square in New York City, State Street in Chicago, and Union Square in San Francisco. This year’s gardens will imagine a colourful world based on the theme, the Carnival.
Besides hosting thousands of flowers, trees and plants from various parts of the world, the Carnival will also feature a two-tiered carousel with animated column horses (think rhododendrons and bromeliads), a roller coaster, bumping cars, a Ferris wheel and more.
The flower show brings together flora that is native to a variety of landscapes and regions and yet blooms in unison. They’re seen everywhere from store counter-tops, windows, and specially-designed structures—each of the three locations will have unique settings and exhibits. Macy’s flower show is free to attend and open for public viewing during regular store timings.
