USA: Memphis in May

This is where the king of rock n roll, Elvis Presley, lived; his house, Graceland, now converted to a museum. This is the city that inspired American singer-songwriter Marc Cohn to pen his signature song, Walking in Memphis. Located along the Mississippi River in southwest Tennessee, Memphis is known for its music and food. So if you are a music fan, then ‘Memphis in May’ is the right time to visit this city. Over each weekend, starting April 29, there will be major events celebrating music, culture and food: Beale Street Music Festival (April 29-May1), International Salute to Canada (May 2-9), a World Championship Barbecue Cooking contest (May 12-14) and the Great American River Run (May 28).
