Step into Matunga and spend a couple of hours eating, drinking and experiencing the cultural delights of this Tamil-dominated part of Mumbai, also called ‘Little Madras’. Filter coffee, different kinds of idlis and dosas, colourful temple architecture and insights into the local community will make you see Matunga through new eyes. Fee: Rs 1,650 per person. On Sunday, January 4, at 10.30 am, join the ‘The Pious & The Thieves’ walk. This one takes you through the legends and myths of Chor Bazaar and its adjacent areas. The tour includes visits inside Mumbai’s oldest Jain Temple and the oldest Bene-Israeli synagogue as well as a peek into Raudat Tahera and Minara Masjid.
