Yaksha, the annual festival of classical music and dance held in the week preceding Mahashivaratri at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, is back in its sixth edition with an equally virtuoso line-up featuring Bharatanatyam by Geeta Chandran, sarod by Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Carnatic vocal by TV Sankaranarayanan and Bombay Jayashree, Hindustani vocal in the Dhrupad tradition by Sayeeduddin Dagar and in the khyal style by Pandits Rajan-Sajan Mishra, and the Carnatic violin by Ganesh and Kumaresh. The Hands of Grace crafts festival runs parallely with over 50 stalls of exquisite artefacts and hand-woven fabric. Yoga programmes are also offered. Mahasivaratri itself is an all-night celebration of music, dance and meditation
