The Goan government is set to issue a circular urging tourists and locals to prioritise safety before exploring potentially hazardous spots in the coastal state. Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte highlighted that many visitors are influenced by social media videos, often leading them to dangerous areas.

According to reports, the circular will inform people about "unsafe places," warning them to avoid such areas and prevent any untoward incident. The move also aims to underline the importance of safety precautions and adherence to rules.

"Sometimes, an Instagram influencer releases a video about an abandoned quarry filled with water. After watching such a video, people go there and jump in the water, without realising the dangers and get drowned," the minister said.
