The popular Indonesian tourist resort of Bali was recently affected by the activity of Mount Agung, Bali’s most sacred volcano; it resulted in the closure of the airport for two and a half days in November, inconveniencing travellers due to arrive or depart during that period.
However, outside the exclusion zone covering approx 10 km radius from the volcano, the rest of Bali which is 98 per cent of the island, is considered safe for travellers, according to reports.
Therefore, to boost confidence among visitors to Bali, the Bali Alila Hotels & Resorts has planned to launch a new initiative called “Alila Takes Me To Bali” across its flagship properties in Bali — Alila Villas Uluwatu, Alila Ubud, Alila Manggis and Alila Seminyak.
To assure travellers of a safe and hassle-free visit to the island, Alila’s Bali properties have decided to issue ‘An Alila Assurance’ under which the hotel guarantees to extend up to two nights’ stay on full board on a complimentary basis, in the event that their guests are unable to leave Bali on their reserved flights on the day of the airport closure.
The hotel will also provide shared transportation to the closest operating airport and assist in re-booking flights.
