Pretty ‘Ivy Cottage’, near Mullingar’s Hill in Landour Cantonment, has been around for over a century, but in its modern avatar of Doma’s Inn, the old cottage has morphed into a multi-coloured sunshine daydream of Tibetan motifs. Its wood-panelled rooms are delightfully comfortable and the largest one even has a sit-out deck, which you can share with a companionable langur. The hotel has five double bedrooms and even a four-bedder, along with free wi-fi and a media centre. One thing it could do with is better food, especially since it charges for lunch and dinner separately. On the plus side, the woody Lal Tibba is a short walk away.
