There’s one room at the main homestead, which is larger and more stately, but we’re rooting for the pretty cottage with two rooms (hireable singly), one featuring an extra day bed and the other a loft with additional place to sleep. Its verandah faces a lovely garden, and the independent setting down the garden path affords welcome privacy. This homestay is indeed homey but we appreciate the pleasant aesthetic and cheerful tidiness. Please eat with the family. The conversations are convivial and full of charming vignettes on the Coorgi way of life. Best of all is the authentic fixed menu of Kodava specialities with every dish spiced just right.
