The Out NYC: A ‘straight-friendly’ urban resort

You might think equality is an egalitarian concept, but it often requires protectionist policies before it can spread its wings. Thus, it might be considered a milestone of success for LGBT rights that New York’s thriving gay scene acquired its first ‘straight-friendly’ set of digs in March. Called The Out NYC, this urban resort may be sexuality-sensitive, but is not sexuality-oriented. Yes, there’s the XL nightclub, cabaret, lounge and all — but it is no mere cruising space. There is also the Kitchin, plus multiple courtyards, business and meetings venues, events spaces (say, for an open-air wedding?).
