Chola temples of Tamil Nadu

Two 11^th and 12^th-century Chola temples—the Brihadisvara temple at Gangaikonda Cholapuram, and the Airavatesvara temple at Darasuram—are now among the World Heritage Sites. They have been added to the cluster of ‘Great Living Chola temples’, which includes the 11^th-century Thanjavur Brihadisvara temple (inscribed in 1987).
