From our editor’s personal musings to riveting behind-the-scenes pictures caught by our photographer, we bring to you the Instagram feeds of our Outlook Traveller team on assignment. Fair warning: The major travel envy inspired will be adequately pacified by cute animal pictures.

Puneet K. Paliwal

Follow Puneet K. Paliwal (@roamromeo) to experience our Senior Photographer’s many avant-garde photo experiments that might not make it into the magazine—strong landscapes, mesmerising portraits and even analog film negatives can be found scattered throughout his feed. With his unique brand of storytelling, Puneet provides a telling sweep into the many alternative perspectives a seasoned professional chooses to explore when on assignment.

Amit Dixit

Amit Dixit’s (@omitdixit) Instagram handle is a clear extension of his animated personality: it’s a colourful and eclectic mosaic of food, art, personal musings and curios from his travels across the globe. Sample: a witty laundry bag sits prettily between a funky Asian doll, and pot of delicate Chinese flower tea. There’s also the occasional photo of the Editor cradling a baby animal.

Sharmistha Chaudhuri

She sells seashells on the seashore… Remember the tongue twister? . . I was in Chennai recently and went to the Marina Beach after years thanks to a friend's insistence. It was hot but the cold water soared our spirits. On our way back, we passed so many pretty shops selling seashells. This was so colourful that I had to stop and take a picture. The seller has been doing this for 35 years now. With demonitization affecting all, he said sales have dropped drastically. But he would soon join the online brigade because 'people see and want to buy. They just don't have cash'. . . If you find yourself at Marina Beach in Chennai go check out his pretty wares. And get a tan too! . . #sharmionthetrot #chennai #marinabeach #madras #seashells #seashellart #seashellmirror #handcrafted #chennaibeach #sochennai #indialove #indiatravelgram #indiatravel #india_gram #incredibleindia #travelblogger #travelgram #travelindia #travelbug #travelasia #travelindia #indiatraveldiaries #cnntravel #natgeotravel #buzzfeedtravel

A delightful mix of blues, greens and reds, Sharmistha Chaudhuri (@sharmi86) is a Jill of all trades paying homage to her Calcutta upbringing—her feed is perfectly balanced between sinfully indulgent meals and stunning cultural landscapes. Our Deputy Editor’s framing of wildlife in Kenya is also worth a glance. If a travel journalist’s feed could nudge you to switch careers, this might be it. Catch #sharmionthetrot today!

Manek S. Kohli (@forprettierthings) offers an intimate glance into the excitingly unpredictable; our Correspondent’s feed shows off everything from natural beauty to decadent appetisers from one of his many reviews. The juxtaposition of subject matter is quite interesting, as Oman’s shifting dunes neighbour the powdery snow of Kashmir. Don’t miss his evocative captions.
