We have a feeling you've already started packing for your trip so that you can include this versatile footwear from Pikkpack. Of course we exaggerate, but not about these shoes.

Fashionable footwear is a baggage staple, you’ll agree. But we find they are terrible baggage allowance hogs for space and weight, especially when packing light. So we were delighted to meet this two-in-one pair of customisable flatpack footwear from start-up brand Pikkpack. Sturdy as a buffalo, too—consisting of black or brown single-piece water-buffalo uppers sewn to either cool buff leather soles or black, neon yellow or turquoise rubber, plus a choice of two sets of laces in one of 14 single- or dual-tone colours—the convenience and style seem worth the hundred(-ish)-dollar tag, shipping extra, on the cotton bag. Just fold it up and lace through to ‘mould’. The simple, unisex slip-on loafer style, made in Hungary, is Euro-elegant and should be at home anywhere from airport to bar to boat decks to fine-dine restaurant. We hear a strappier ‘summer shoe’ is in the pipeline as well. ($99, www.pikkpack.com)
