Kitsch is passé. Or so say the designers at FroggMag, who make India-inspired fridge magnets, jigsaw puzzles, notebooks, bridge sets and magnetic bookmarks. Their greatest draw? Traditional, folksy motifs from local textiles, monuments, pottery and folk art, including Santhal murals and Tholu Bommalata puppetry, Basohli paintings and Kashida needle-work (not a Warhol-esque auto-rickshaw in sight!). This set of Itmad-ud-Daulah magnets, for instance, pulls off a fine imitation of the latticed screens and intricate naqqashi at Agra’s Baby Taj.
