Danish-inspired brand Ellehammer is starting to land in Indian airports, courtesy an exclusive arrangement with Amazon India. The Hong Kong-based luggage makers took their brand name and logo from 19th-century Copenhagen-based watchmaker and inventor Jacob Ellehammer’s life and work. Ellehammer contributed much to powered flight and marine explorations, recalling which legacy (the brand hopes) should bring them the custom of an adventurous bunch of business travellers. Most of their currently small range incorporates easy-access laptop compartments lined with 360° Tech Protect foam, ID tags, pairing buckles to keep pieces of your luggage in a train, storage compression and organisation features, and detachable hanging units for today’s road warriors, and quiet PU wheels. We particularly like the look—and easy price—of the smart-casual Bergen range of strolleys, backpacks and bags, with their rough-and-ready grab handles reinforced with metal coil. We are also intrigued by the urban-profiled Roskilde backpack–messenger convertible bag. (from Rs 1,999, www.amazon.in)
