Smoker’s accessory

Singapore may be many things to many people, but there is one tag it seems unable to shake off: it’s just too clean. So it only seems apt that on my nth trip to the Lion City, I got back this C-Stub pocket ashtray as my top buy. Available at 7-Eleven stores all over Singapore, this nifty pouch, which has a foil lining on the inside, takes the drag out of responsible lighting up (‘Don’t be a tosser,’ admonishes the packaging, while promising a shelf life of six to nine months). So no hunting for the smoking zone, no fretting about how to keep the ash off the grass. There’s only one catch, though. It looks a little too clean to use. And it’s a bit pointless if, like me, you live in a filthy city. So I think I’ll just have to go back to use it.
