You don’t have to know lilies from sunflowers to appreciate this cool cookie tin that I picked up from the Van Gogh Museum shop in Amsterdam. I loved it because it was a Dutch souvenir that had nothing to do with windmills, clogs, flower bulbs, weed leaves (though I did manage to bring some of the seeds) and Delftware. Well, there were prints of my favourite artist’s work too, but not the type where you just rotate the position in which you are sitting or the objet d’art to get an altogether different masterpiece. They had a variety of options for what the tin could contain — cheese, stroopwafels, jenever, and so on. But nothing like munching on cookies with a mug of black coffee as you gaze at the master’s Café Terrace at Night. So that’s what I chose. The cookies weren’t much to write home about, but I have been using this awesome box to store my pot pourri ever since. €12
