Taj Hotels Host The 2024 Sir Pratap Singh Polo Cup At The Jaipur Polo Grounds In Delhi

Polo, often called “the sport of kings,” once again echoed on the Jaipur Polo Grounds in New Delhi when the prestigious Sir Pratap Singh Polo Cup 2024 took place on November 17, 2024.Hosted by Taj Hotels, the event honoured Sir Pratap Singh of Jodhpur, one of India's most esteemed polo supporters and a visionary who pioneered modern polo. In a spectacular display of pageantry, the legendary Mehrangarh band heralded the arrival of the dignitaries at the event, which included His Highness Maharaja Gajsingh Ji II of Marwar-Jodhpur and the Quarter Master General of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General V M Bhuvana Krishnan. They arrived in a ceremonial convoy led by majestic thoroughbreds.The four-chukker tournament seamlessly blended the timeless allure of polo with exquisite culinary and immersive experiences. In the evening, the chefs of Taj Palace, New Delhi, presented the finest selection from their curated repertoire, featuring iconic contemporary global dishes, traditional delicacies from Jodhpur and exquisite seasonal creations. The evening brought together an illustrious gathering of the capital’s elite, including Padma Bhushan awardee and actor Sharmila Tagore, Lieutenant General Rakesh Kapoor, actor Moon Moon Sen, actor Raima Sen, business owner Chetan Seth, actor and politican Nafisa Ali, as well as the ambassadors of the Slovak Republic, Ireland, and Chile to India, the British High Commissioner, and numerous other dignitaries.
