Union Minister of State for Home Affairs on Monday said that the violence in North-East Delhi was orchestrated with an eye on US President's visit to India.

"I condemn it. Govt of India will never tolerate violence. We will take strict action against those responsible. Ministry of Home Affairs is monitoring the situation. MHA has ordered Delhi Police to take strict action against those involved in the killing of the police personnel, stone-pelting, setting fire to the property," said G Kishan Reddy, MoS Home Affairs.

Blaming the Congress party for the violence in North-east Delhi, Reddy said, "Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party and those people who are supporting protests against CAA should tell who is responsible for damaging the image of India. "

Clashes between pro and anti-CAA protesters erupted in Northeast Delhi and resulted in the death of a head constable. Although police is yet to identify the people who were responsible for the death of the constable, Reddy blamed the anti-CAA protestors.

Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik is currently stationed at the police control room in North-east Delhi and is closely monitoring the situation.
