In a deadly tsunami which hit Indonesia early on Saturday (1430 GMT), members of a musical band were among those who lost their lives.

In a heart-wrenching video circulating on social media, the pop band 'Seventeen' is seen performing when the tsunami hit from behind and washed off the entire stage, moving into the audience.

The band was performing at marquee on the western tip of the Indonesian island of Java on Saturday night.

The lead singer of the band later took to social media to share the details of the unfateful incident, informing that the band's bassist and road manager lost their lives in the tsunami.

At least 168 people have been killed and 745 injured after a tsunami hit the coast on Indonesia's Sunda Strait.

There was no warning of the advancing wave that struck on Saturday around 9.30 p.m., the BBC reported. Deaths have been reported in the Pandeglang, Lampung and Serang regions.
