Armaan Kohli’s Father, Rajkumar Kohli Dies At 93: Filmmaker Known For 'Nagin', 'Jaani Dushman' Passes Away

Senior filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli, father of Armaan Kohli passed away. He made films like 'Pati Patni Aur Tawaif', Badle Ki Aag', 'Naukar Biwi Ka, and 'Jaani Dushman'. He was 93 years old.

Senior filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli, father of actor Armaan Kohli breathed his last on November 24. He died due to a heart attack and was 93 years old.  Rajkumar made films like 'Pati Patni Aur Tawaif', 'Jaani Dushman', 'Nagin', 'Jaani Dushman', 'Badle Ki Aag' and 'Naukar Biwi Ka' among others. 

As per reports, Kohli passed away on Friday morning at 8. The funeral will reportedly take place later in the evening.

Rajkumar Kohli played a huge role in his son Armaan's career. He produced 'Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Prem Kahaani', as a tribute to the 1979 film, 'Jaani Dushman'. Armaan was in the former.

Born in 1930, Rajlumar began his journey in films in the 1960s. In 1963 he started with 'Sapni' and directed the Punjabi film 'Dulla Bhatti' in 1966. He made films like 'Lootera' (1970) and 'Kahani Hum Sab Ki' (1973). But it was in 1976, with the blockbuster 'Nagin', that he became popular. Then later, he made 'Jaani Dushman', one of India’s first horror films that was a hit. It released in 1979.

His last release was 'Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani' in 2002 which was unsuccessful. Post which Kohli didn't do any film.

Talking about his personal life, he got married to Nishi, a Punjabi film actress with whom he worked in his 1963 Punjabi film 'Pind Di Kudi'. He has two sons – Gogi and Armaan.
