Kolkata Court Issues Arrest Warrant Against Actress Zareen Khan In Alleged Cheating Scam

The case has been filed against her by organisers of an event who claimed that she did not attend it even after prior commitment.

As per a recent report, a Kolkata court has issued an arrest warrant against actress Zareen Khan in connection with an alleged cheating case from 2018. It is believed that the case has been registered against her by organisers of an event who alleged that Zareen did not attend it even after committing for it before.

Reportedly, the investigating officer has also submitted compelling evidence againstZareen before the Sealdah court in Kolkata. Zareen Khan, on the other hand, has not submitted any bail request so far or appeared in court. It was only after her repeated absences that the court issued an arrest warrant.

When Zareen was questioned about the arrest warrant, she mentioned how she didn't know anything about the case. "I’m sure there is no truth to this. I’m surprised too and am checking with my lawyer. Only then will I be able to give you some clarity. In the meantime, you can speak to my PR," Zareen said.

It is being said that she was slated to perform during a Durga Puja function in Kolkata in 2018, but she did not show up at the last minute, and the organisers of the event had to cancel her performance. Of course, her unprofessional behaviour was a cause of inconvenience and disappointment for the event organisers.

According to the police, one of the event organisers filed a written cheating complaint against the actress and her manager. Following that, an FIR was filed against both of them, and the two were summoned for questioning. At that time, Zareen Khan appeared for questioning and alleged that the organisers had misled her, adding that she was informed by the organisers that heavyweight politicians, including Bengal's chief minister, would attend the event.

Zareen further claimed that her team eventually learned that it was a small-scale event in north Kolkata, and since there was a misunderstanding regarding plane tickets and other accommodations, she had to miss the concert.

Meanwhile, in her reply, Zareen Khan also filed a case against the event’s organisers in a local court, and India Today quoted police sources as saying. While her manager has requested bail, Zareen did not ask for bail or appear in court.
