As per the news agency Associated Press, Mohbad, who was 27 passed away in a hospital in Lagos after being admitted for an unknown illness. The Lagos police said his body was exhumed on Thursday, September 21, nine days later in response to complaints about the unclear circumstances surrounding his death.
Now, Perez Medcare Hospital, Lagos, where the late rapper was admitted, has broken the silence over his death. On Mohbad’s death investigation, the hospital issued a statement late Monday night stating that Mohbad was brought in dead to the hospital on September 12 at approximately 4:30 pm.
The statement partly read, “The attention of the management of Perez Medcare Hospital has been drawn to the misleading and false information circulated in some social media platforms that Mr Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mobbed) died in our medical facility.
We consider it pertinent to put on record that at about 04:30 pm on the 12th of September 2023, the lifeless body of Mr Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (AKA Mohbad) was brought to our medical facility, and our medical team immediately sprang into action.
After assessment, it was discovered that there was no sign of life, no central or peripheral pulse, no heartbeat, no recordable vital signs and his pupils were fixed and dilated.
On attempting CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), rigour mortis (stiffening of some parts of the body concerning death) was observed, and the persons who brought him to our facility were informed that it was a case of BID (Brought in dead).”

Promise Oladimeji Aloba, also known as MohBad (Imole), was born on June 8, 1996, in Lagos State. Apart from being a singer, he was also a songwriter.
His journey as a musician in the Nigerian entertainment industry started in 2016. He gained popularity after he performed on the version of Kizz Daniel’s 'Fvck You' song. He released 'Owaala' with Lil Frosh and Cblvck, in April 2019.
After agreeing to a record deal with Marlian Records World in 2019, Mohbad issued his first EP, ‘Light’. The eight songs on the EP feature Davido, Naira Marley, and Lil Kesh.
Mohbad's popular singles include 'Ponmo', 'Feel Good', 'Adura' and 'KPK (Ko Por Ke)' with Rexxie, which was nominated three times for The Headies Awards in 2022.

On October 5, 2022, the singer decided to part ways with the label as he had a disagreement with the owner Azeez Fashola who is also known as Naira Marley. He alleged that he was a victim of violence and exploitation.
Mohbad said that the incident occurred when he raised concerns with Naira Marley regarding his choice to appoint a new manager to look after his music and business matters.
The rapper's friend Bella Shmurda revealed that Mohbad's health had deteriorated and he had even attempted suicide because of the feud between him and his former label boss.
