Taylor Swift Beats Elvis Presley To Become Soloist With Most Weeks On Top Of Billboard 200

Taylor Swift has been at the top of the Billboard 200 list for 68 weeks. By doing so she has overtaken Elvis Presley from the top position, who had spent 67 weeks on top of the Billboard 200 list.

Taylor Swift is touching new heights every day. She has now gone ahead to overtake the legendary Elvis Presley and become the soloist with the most weeks on the top of the Billboard 200 list. Taylor Swift’s ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ has once again become the topmost song on the Billboard 200 list. This is the 5th non-consecutive week for the song. With this week’s result, she has toppled Elvis Presley as she now has 68 weeks at the top in comparison to Elvis Presley’s 67 weeks.

With this achievement Taylor Swift becomes the only solo artist to be on top of the Billboard 200 for that many weeks. Only The Beatles have been at the top of the Billboard 200 list for more weeks than this. They were on the top for 132 weeks. However, they are a band, while Elvis Presley and Taylor Swift are soloists. So, it’s indeed a great achievement for Taylor Swift.

Taylor Swift’s first album to become the No. 1 album on Billboard 200 was ‘Fearless’. It had spent 11 weeks on the top of the list between 2008 and 2009. Soon after, ‘Speak Now’ went on to remain at the top of the Billboard 200 for 6 weeks between 2010 and 2011. ‘Red’ was next. It spent 7 weeks on top of the Billboard 200 between 2012 and 2013. Her album ‘1989’ ended up spending 11 weeks on top of the Billboard 200 between 2014 and 2015. Then ‘Reputation’ stayed on top of Billboard 200 for 4 weeks between 2017 and 2018. ‘Lover’ spent just one week on top of the Billboard 200 in 2019. Between 2020 and 2021, ‘Evermore’ spent 4 weeks on top of the Billboard 200.

Next up was ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’, which spent 2 weeks atop the Billboard 200 list in 2021. Again, ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ reached the top of the Billboard 200 for one week in 2021. ‘Midnights’ got Taylor Swift once again to the top of the Billboard 200 for 6 weeks between 2022 and 2023. ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ was on top of Billboard 200 for 2 weeks in 2023. Lastly, ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ is currently having its 5th week on top of the Billboard 200 between 2023 and 2024.

Will ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ go on to stay on top of the Billboard 200 for more weeks? Only time will tell.
