Lawmakers across party lines condemned the gruesome act and called for stricter laws against perpetrators.
The issue of rape and murder of Telangana woman veterinarian stirred an uproar in both the houses of the Parliament on Monday with Samjadwadi Party leader and veteran Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan saying that rapists should be "brought out in public and lynched".
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said he has given permission for discussion on the matter after Question Hour.
"I think it's time, whether it's Nirbhaya or Kathua, or whatever happened in Hyderabad...the people now want the government to answer how much these people have received justice," Bachchan said.
"These people need to be brought out in public and lynched."
In the Rajya Sabha, on the other hand, lawmakers across party lines condemned the gruesome act and called for stricter laws against perpetrators.
The burnt body of the veterinary doctor was found at Shadnagar outskirts in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district last week. As per the preliminary probe, the police suspect that the doctor was raped before being charred to death.
Rajya Sabha Speaker gave the permission of a discussion on the rape and murder of Telangana woman after the Question Hour. Expressing concern, the Speaker said the incidents like those of Telangana have worried the Parliament.
Vijila Sathyananth, AIADMK leader, said the country is not safe for children and women. "Four people, who committed this crime should be hanged till death before December 31. A fast-track court should be set up. Justice delayed is justice denied," she said.
Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that no government or leader would want that such an incident to occur in their state. "This problem can't be solved by just making laws. To eradicate such acts, there's a need of standing together against such crimes," he added.
Congress leader Amee Yajnik said: "I request all the systems -- judiciary, legislative, executive and others -- to come together to see that a social reformation takes place. This should happen on an emergency basis."
