India vs Bharat: Amid Name-Change Row, Blue Dart Rebrands Its Premium Service To 'Bharat Plus'

Amid an ongoing controversy over the use of 'Bharat' to refer to the country, the logistics company Blue Dart in a surprise announcement rebranded its India premium service from 'Dart Plus' to 'Bharat Plus'.

Amid an ongoing controversy over the use of 'Bharat' to refer to the country, the logistics company Blue Dart in a surprise announcement rebranded its Indian premium service from 'Dart Plus' to 'Bharat Plus'. The row first erupted when a dinner invite sent to G20 delegates and other guests ahead of the summit mentioned 'President of Bharat' instead of the customary 'President of India'.

In a press release, the company said, "This strategic transformation marks a milestone in Blue Dart's ongoing journey, underscoring its unwavering commitment to serving the diverse needs of Bharat," explaining its decision. The company further said that the move stems from an extensive discovery and research process aimed at aligning itself to the evolving needs of its customers.

"Blue Dart Express Limited invites all stakeholders to join on this transformative journey as the company continues to connect Bharat to the world and the world to Bharat," the statement said.

India VS Bharat

The push for using 'Bharat' in the place of 'India' to refer to the country has been overtly visible in the last few days. At the recently-concluded G20 Summit in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sat in front of a name-card that said 'Bharat' instead of India, which was the first time that the namecard 'Bharat' was used to refer to India at any global summit.
