A Maratha outfit in Maharashtra's Thane city has called for a 'bandh' on September 11 in response to the recent police lathi-charge against protesters in Jalna. Opposition party leaders in the state have rallied behind the 'bandh,' showing their support for the Sakal Maratha Morcha, backed by the Sambhaji Brigade.
During a meeting held on Saturday, prominent local leaders urged Thane citizens to participate in the 'bandh.' The meeting saw the presence of Suhas Desai, the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) city unit president, Pradeep Shinde, the Shiv Sena (UBT) counterpart, Ravindra More and Avinash Jadhav from the MNS, Ramesh Ambre, the city chief of Maratha Kranti Morcha, and Vikrant Chavan, the city president of the Congress party.
