Continuing his attack on the BJP-ruled Gujarat government, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Friday said the state governmnmet had given Rs 33,000 crore to Tata for its Nano car project, but he didn't see a single vehicle on Gujarat roads in the 10-15 days.
"Rs 33,000 crore was given for Nano, but I haven't seen a single Nano in the past 10-15 days. I've been looking for one but couldn't find it, said Rahul while addressing Navsarjan Yatra in Gujarat's Vapi.
On Wednesday in Bharuch's Jambusar, Rahul said: “Modi had given Rs. 33,000 crore bank loan for free to the company, for the least rate. Your land was taken. Rs. 33,000 crore could have been used to waive farmers’ debt. Do you seen Nano cars on the roads? Nowhere can you see. You can’t see it anywhere in India,” he said, as reported by ANI.

In 2015, the Gujarat government admitted in the assembly that it had paid Rs 456.79 crore as a "loan" to Tata MotorsBSE 0.60 % to set up its Nano plant near Sanand in Ahmedabad district.
In her written reply, then Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel, who handled the industries portfolio, had stated that as on January 31, 2015, the Gujarat state government had paid Rs 456.79 crore as a "loan" to Tata motors to set up its plant.
Her reply stated that out of this, Rs 167.20 crore was paid in 2012-13, Rs 252.34 crore was paid in 2013-14 and Rs 37.25 crore was paid in 2014-15 (as on January 31, 2015).
Rahul also asked how many jobs had the government created for the people of the country. The Congress vice-president also spoke about GST, demonetisation and questioned if people had Rs 15 lakh deposited in their accounts.
