World Book Day Celebrations: A Treat For The Bibliophiles

Pinterest on World Book Day brings a treat for the book lover, showcasing books from several countries across the world.

April 23 is celebrated as the World Book Day all across the world, to pay tribute to the veteran literary figures like William Shakespeare, Miguel Cervantes and Inca Garcilaso De La Vega. The day was finalized by UNESCO General Conference in 1995 to honour the world-renowned authors and their masterpieces. During every World Book Day celebrations, UNESCO and several organizations representing publishers, booksellers and libraries select World Book Capital for a year to maintain the celebrations of books and readings. For this year, Sharjah in UAE has been declared as The World Book Capital.

For the book lovers, Pinterest has brought a plethora of choices, to pick and choose from. The books from all across the world provide the readers with a range of genres. This aspect has been highlighted as the crux of this year’s theme, marking 2019 as The International Year of Indigenous Languages.

Children have lost touch with the habit of reading books on a regular basis, owing to their frivolous addictions to internet and television. To draw the children's' attention towards reading good books, and developing their inclination for the same, several creative ideas have emerged on the occasion of the World Book Day, such as the books that are best for the teenagers and for all the age groups, accompanied by creative ways to boost their concentration while reading books.
