The time to call a halt to arbitrary powers of the State is now; else it may be too late!
The CJI’s recent remark that the Supreme Court would stand by the people to protect their rights, has provided a ray of hope and has renewed faith in this institution as the protector of the secular, democratic way of life that our forefathers had dreamt of, at the dawn of independence.
At a time when the State is becoming more and more inhuman, the laws enacted are turning out to be more draconian by the day, and the poor and the vulnerable becoming more and more vulnerable and helpless.
