The Chief Minister released a book titled "Cyber Encounters" at St Joseph's Academy, Rajpur Road on Sunday. According to The Print, the book was written by DGP Uttarakhand Ashok Kumar and former DRDO scientist OP Manocha, and analyzes cybercrime based on true incidents.
The CM praised the efforts of the writers and stated that the book is not only informative but also entertaining. He emphasized the importance of being aware of cybercrime and how this book will serve to inspire people to protect themselves from it. The book was reviewed by Anil Raturi and Prof. Surekha Dangwal, who both have a good understanding of the police, administration, and society.
The DGP of Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar, gave detailed information about cybercrime and how to prevent it. Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, former Director General Anil Raturi, Vice Chancellor Doon University Prof. Surekha Dangwal, Piyush Kumar from Prabhat Prakashan, Dr. Alaknanda Ashok, Shakti Manocha, and other dignitaries were present at the book release event.

The Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Kumar, cited examples of different types of cybercrimes and explained how they present new challenges for law enforcement, including tracking and tracing criminals through their digital footprint. In 2022, the state police received 14,399 complaints of cybercrime, indicating the need for greater awareness and vigilance against this growing threat.
